Who Owns Mazda & What Are Some of its Iconic Models?

The year was 1920, when in Hiroshima, Japan, the Mazda Motor Corporation was born. Started as a three-wheeled motorcycle manufacturer making “Autorickshaws”, Mazda found success with this form of transportation into 1930s. This helped cause motorized carts to become extremely popular. It also put Mazda into the spotlight as a respected manufacturer. By 1940, Mazda had created its first passenger vehicle but was still only known for its three-wheeled carts. Because Mazda recognized that cars were becoming more popular, though, it started designing more up-to-date designs for small cars and trucks. Eventually, as Mazda continued to innovate over the years, iconic Mazda models like the rotary-powered 1967 Mazda Cosmo Sport (110S), sporty 1978 Mazda RX-7, iconic 1989 Mazda MX-5 Miata roadster, and first-of-its-kind 2013 Mazda CX-5 were developed.
